A Dual Enrollment (DE) course is a college course taught at the high school by qualified instructors. The student earns credit toward high school and college at the same time and the school district pays for the class if the student earns a C- or higher. In order to be eligible for a DE course, a student must place in with the Accuplacer exam to show proficiency at a college level in reading, writing, and/or math. The Accuplacer is an online exam administered by CMC proctors and students must register, receive a CMC id number, and then schedule a day and time (at home) to test online. The full instructions with links to access each of these sites is attached to this email. Simply put:
If you have never taken an Accuplacer exam before, either Reading/Writing or Math, and don't have a CMC id number, you will go to this link:
You do NOT have to retake the Accuplacer if you have already placed in with the English/Reading exam or the Math exam (depending upon which course(s) you would like to enroll in). If you don't know if you've placed in, or don't remember your CMC id #, please email Carol Carlson at email@example.com OR your School Counselor for this information.
