*Costa Rica Trip Description (0.5 Foreign Language Credit)

The student trip to Costa Rica is a fourteen day total language and culture immersion program.  Prior to the departure date, students will attend approximately 9 hours of classes and meetings to better prepare them for their trip abroad.  They will also be completing approximately 12 additional hours of Spanish language work, studies, and culture research.  During their trip abroad, the students will be involved in an intensive Spanish immersion program.  They will use the target language in all aspects of their daily lives.  They will also be living with a Costa Rican family for 6 days and nights where they will be immersed in the Spanish language with no English language use availability.  Upon arrival back in the United States, the students will complete approximately one hour of reflection on their trip and language experience
