Middle Park Invitational

The Eagle Valley wrestlers returned from the Middle Park Wrestling Tournament on December 2nd with three individual champions and a 6th place team finish.

103 pounder, Josh Wamboldtpinned three opponents and beat a fourth by points to win his first varsity tournament title as a devil.

At 130 pounds, freshman James Harvey dominated his opponents to win a tournament championship.   Harvey had three pins and did not allow a point to be scored on him in the tourney.

Senior captain Brendan Best won the title at 189 pounds.  Best beat Kyle Martinez 4-1 in the finals.  Martinez is ranked number one in the state in class 3A.

Sophomore Andrew Hill wrestled to a fourth place individual finish to round out the medal winners for the Devils.

Freshman Kieran Hurtt and sophomore Trent Book were one match away from placing.

Other Devil wrestlers making the trip to Granby were Colt Ewing, Chad Strakbein, C.J. Duty, Joslyn Funez, Joey Bajza, Chris Hing and Andrew Noriega.

Eagle Valley duals Battle Mountain and Glenwood Springs at Battle Mountain on December 7th and then go to Delta for a tournament on December 9th.
