The Eagle Valley Devils wrestlers finished in 6th place out of 18 teams at the Jim McCall Invitational at Lake County High School in Leadville on Saturday, January 20th.

Leading the Devils were Brendan Best, James Harvey and Josh Wamboldt. Best pinned his way through the tournament, winning first place and his third Outstanding Wrestler Award of the season. James Harvey had three pins on his way to the finals where he beat his opponent from Florence 13-3. Wamboldt took third place at 112 pounds and added three pins to his statistics. "Josh looked fantastic. He can pin anybody, " said coach Ron Beard of the senior.

"We wrestled very well in the first two rounds. We were ready," said coach Luke Cross. The Devils got at least one win by pin by all wrestlers except one in the early rounds. Chad Strakbein had three wins at 103 pounds. Trent Book made it to the semi-finals and Manuel Carrasco had two wins by pin.

The team race was won by Rocky Ford followed by Merino and Florence.
