The Eagle Valley Devils wrestlers found the Warrior Classic Wrestling Tournament VERY challenging this year. The two day tournament, held on December 15th and 16th, found only 3 Eagle Valley wrestlers still competing on the second day. Chad Strakbein(103) made it to the second day of competition, but fell to Jared Doll of Meeker in his final match. The previously unbeaten Brendan Best and James Harvey were in the mix on day two and both came away with medals. Best (189) went 5-1 for the tourney, losing in the semi-finals to Stryker Lane of Nucla. Best took third place. James Harvey(130) placed 6th after losing to the number one ranked wrestlers in 3A and 5A. In both of this losses, Harvey was leading and in control most of the match, but little mistakes cost him. "James is accustomed to dominating and overpowering people. These losses were great learnin experiences for him," said assistant coach Luke Cross. Trent Book (140) was the only wrestler to score a victory at the Warrior tournament.

The Devils host their own Eagle Valley Inviational on Saturday, January 6th.
